Delivery of leisure boats
Leisure boats / canoes / kayaks up to 25 feet without motor: Free of charge
Leisure boats with motor (regardless of size), and boats over 25 feet: Free of charge, but must be arranged in advance before delivery.
Due to safety reasons, we unfortunately cannot assist with unloading boats from trailers or truck beds.
Therefore, the trailer must either have wheels so the boat can be easily rolled off, or the truck must be equipped with a crane to lift down larger boats or skiffs.
We cannot accept boats over 30 feet, or with engines weighing more than 4 tonnes.
Scrapping Refund for Leisure Boats – Effective from October 1, 2017
You can now receive NOK 1,000 in scrapping refund for delivering leisure boats to an approved facility.
Boats can be delivered to the waste facility at Heftingsdalen in Arendal or Østerhus in Grimstad.
Please note: The Østerhus facility only accepts boats up to 18 feet.
Which boats are eligible for the refund?
A leisure boat is a vessel used for sport and recreation, with a hull length of up to 15 meters (49.21 feet), regardless of total weight, and not used for commercial purposes.
Smaller vessels such as sailboards, canoes, rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), and kayaks are included in the refund scheme.
Inflatable boats without a rigid hull are not eligible for the refund.
How to receive the refund:
A form must be filled out before delivery.
Read more about the scheme at:
https://www.miljodirektoratet.no/ansvarsomrader/avfall/vrakpant/vrakpant-pa-bat/
We have the form available at the weigh station if you are unable to print it beforehand.
The form can also be downloaded from the website.
We will sign the form upon delivery of the boat.
Then, scan or take a photo of the signed form and upload it to the Norwegian Environment Agency’s electronic application portal:
https://soknadssenter.miljodirektoratet.no
The refund is paid out by the Norwegian Environment Agency.
